Battery Installation
  1. Requires 3 AA alkaline batteries.
  2. Open the battery door by turning small knob on rear of unit counterclockwise.
  3. Install new batteries as shown in the polarity diagram (+/-) inside the battery compartment.
  4. Replace battery door securely.

Battery Safety
  • Batteries are small objects. Batteries must be replaced by an adult.
  • Follow the polarity (+/-) diagram in the battery compartment.
  • Promptly remove dead batteries from the tip jar.
  • Dispose of used batteries properly.
  • Remove batteries for prolonged storage.
  • Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
  • DO NOT incinerate used batteries.
  • DO NOT dispose of batteries in fire, as batteries may explode or leak.
  • DO NOT mix old and new batteries or types of batteries (i.e. alkaline/standard).
  • DO NOT use rechargeable batteries.
  • DO NOT recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
  • DO NOT short-circuit the supply terminals.

Turning the unit on and adjusting the volume
  1. Turn large knob clockwise till you hear a click. Unit is on.
  2. Continuing to turn knob clockwise will increase volume.
  3. Turn knob counterclockwise to decrease volume.
  4. Turn unit off by turning large knob counterclockwise until it clicks.

Troubleshooting

IMPORTANT:
  1. Make sure batteries are installed with the (+/-) signs facing correctly.
  2. Make sure batteries are new.
  3. Make sure the top rim of jar is not in contact with any metallic objects.
  4. After constant use for approximately 6 months, the LED lights will start operating erratically. This is a sign that the batteries need to be replaced and the unit will return to normal operation with 3 new alkaline AA batteries installed.
