Battery Installation
- Requires 3 AA alkaline batteries.
- Open the battery door by turning small knob on rear of unit counterclockwise.
- Install new batteries as shown in the polarity diagram (+/-) inside the battery compartment.
- Replace battery door securely.
Battery Safety
- Batteries are small objects. Batteries must be replaced by an adult.
- Follow the polarity (+/-) diagram in the battery compartment.
- Promptly remove dead batteries from the tip jar.
- Dispose of used batteries properly.
- Remove batteries for prolonged storage.
- Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
- DO NOT incinerate used batteries.
- DO NOT dispose of batteries in fire, as batteries may explode or leak.
- DO NOT mix old and new batteries or types of batteries (i.e. alkaline/standard).
- DO NOT use rechargeable batteries.
- DO NOT recharge non-rechargeable batteries.
- DO NOT short-circuit the supply terminals.
Turning the unit on and adjusting the volume
- Turn large knob clockwise till you hear a click. Unit is on.
- Continuing to turn knob clockwise will increase volume.
- Turn knob counterclockwise to decrease volume.
- Turn unit off by turning large knob counterclockwise until it clicks.
Troubleshooting
IMPORTANT:
- Make sure batteries are installed with the (+/-) signs facing correctly.
- Make sure batteries are new.
- Make sure the top rim of jar is not in contact with any metallic objects.
- After constant use for approximately 6 months, the LED lights will start operating erratically. This is a sign that the batteries need to be replaced and the unit will return to normal operation with 3 new alkaline AA batteries installed.
